Event Details
The energy and climate crises point in one clear direction – a faster transition towards clean renewable energy sources. Heat is half of the energy demand in Europe, making heat decarbonisation one of the main challenges of the energy transition. Direct renewable heat solutions like solar heat are already replacing imported gas, and one of the ways is through Solar District Heating.
Euroheat & Power and Solar Heat Europe are joining forces and addressing these topics during the webinar ‘The Rise of Solar District Heating’ that will take place on March 28th, 2023.
The event will bring together panellists covering the different perspectives needed for Solar District Heating deployment across Europe, such as financing, utilities, project development, and policy.
AGENDA
- 10:30 – 10:35 Welcoming words
- Euroheat & Power and Solar Heat Europe
- 10:35 – 10:50 Keynote on Solar District Heating
- Bärbel Epp on behalf of IEA-SHC
- 10:50 – 11:40 Panel discussion moderated by Aurélie Beauvais, Managing Director, Euroheat & Power
- Bojan Bogdanovic, Principal Fund Manager, Renewable District Energy, EBRD
- Ina Bērziņa-Veita, CEO Salaspils Siltums
- Guglielmo Cioni, Vice President Business Development, TVP Solar
- Matthieu Ballu, Policy Officer, Directorate General for Energy, Renewable Energy Unit, European Commission
- Bärbel Epp, Managing Director Solrico & Journalist

Event Details
On 29 March 2023 the two sister projects R-ACES and EMB3Rs are organising a joint workshop for stakeholders to test their potential for waste heat recovery using two different platforms. Experience the features of the R-ACES Energy Management Platform and the EMB3Rs heat and cold matching platform.
The R-ACES Energy Management Platform (EMP) is an ICT-tool that makes energy flows transparent, allows energy consumption and production to be allocated to specific installations, stakeholders and nodes, and also identifies anomalies and opportunities.
The EMB3Rs platform links excess heat and cold energy sources with DHC networks and other sinks. Just add your sources and sinks to the map, fill in the required data such as the amount of heat e.g. and let the simulation run. The best solution for the re-use of your waste heat will be calculated. Prepared data sets will support you testing the platform, so all you need to bring along is your laptop.
For your fullest experience and for best interaction between you and the EMB3Rs/R-ACES Team we would like to have the workshop in-person. Please have a look at our registration form for further information.
Don’t miss the opportunity to test two different platforms the same day for checking your potential of reusing waste heat!
